The myth of the "Diana of the lake Klopeiner See"
Many, many years ago, as the land "Caranthanien" was still taken and governed by the superpower from distant Rome, the Roman soldiers and the citizens in the area of the lake "Klopeiner See" adored a goddess called Diana (not to mistake with the later goddess of the hunt).
This goddess should have guarded an incredible treasure in the depths oth the lake which is also even today said to be responsible for the wonderful color of the lake.
The Caranthanen (citizens of Caranthanien) revered this goddess called DIANA for a long time. Thus we have decided to choose the Diana as a symbolic figure and winner's figure for our film festival at lake "Klopeiner See". Not past all reason this winner's figure is a wordwide hot-popular trophy which also inceases the name recognition and reputation of the "Klopeiner See" abroad.
Both mentors were so disappointed about the drift of the only international festival in Canrintha (Festival of Nations {"Festival der Nationan"} at Velden on the lake "Wörthersee" to a village called "Ebensee" (Upper Austria) that they decided to maintain another festival in Carinthia (Kärnten). This was manifested with the foundation of the festival "GOLDENE DIANA" in 1988.
Both mentors (Albin Brezlan and Paul Kraiger) found the legend stated on top in history books and used the cental figre "GOLDEN DIANA" as a price for excellent films. |
